WOMEN ON WAVES (WOW) Santa Cruz Surfing Contest

Capitola Beach Company is very proud to be a first time sponsor of the Women on Waves surfing event happening at Capitola Beach on Saturday, October 17th, 2015. Women on Waves (WOW) is as a super fun women’s amateur surfing contest that gives the women and girls of our community a chance to get out there and charge Santa Cruz waves for a good cause. Proceeds from WOW benefits some of the great local non-profits that serve to better the people in our community.

Since wow began in 1996, this event has raised over $50,000 for the Santa Cruz Community. Among others, proceeds benefited the Barry Hamby Cabrillo, Women On Waves Zeuf Hesson Scholarship (Dedicated to Zeuf Hesson, Queen of the Santa Cruz surfing, a constant source of inspiration and motivation to the Santa Cruz community) WomenCARE, a non-profit that supports women with cancer and their families and Women’s Crisis Support – Defensa de Mujeres, a non-profit that helps women and children subjected to domestic violence.

This year WOW has chosen WomenCARE, and Monarch Services as their beneficiaries.
